Mid September Feast under a Ful Mother Moon - Local, Organic Fare served up by one Rawsome Chef!
















This early close to mid-September morn, after plucking summer's last crop of juicy raspberries, right off of the tender high-reaching vine, one grateful homeschooling Momma K, biked home, under a full and rawk'n Mother Moon.

After an intense upper body workout at the gym, and a detoxifying sauna, I was rawsomely inspired by my teen homeschooler - Baby K - as he dug into a Botiga fermented olive that i was setting out on a tray, alongside some rawk'n fresh, local fare, that I was intending to photograph.

Reminded of my own dearly departed Mommy and my parents regular weekend parties ... I re-counted to my raw, vegan son, the story of my construction worker dad, and his hard-working drinking friends, who would come over with their wives, and eat dried out, yeast-ridden Ritz Crackers, and dig into dead olives - floating in brownish brine, with plastic toothpicks. Along with poisoned pickled herring and canned oysters - filled with mercury. Oh, those were - not - the days or daze ...of one more malnourished childhood!

Thus, inspired.. I set to 'work'; preparing my early morn meal of sliced garden tomato - naturally sun ripened, green chlorophyll-laden parsley, garlic - 'Russian Penicillin,' and rounds of rawsome Love.

Ah, yes. Also adding sprinkles of healing Himalyan Crytals, for loads of extra light and energizing energy. Not to mention, amazing minerals that used to so freely float upon this once pure planet, before the divine dinosaurs did so freely roam. Even if most of these mighty meat eaters were known to be carnivores - at least their raw food was not processed, cooked and devastatingly devoid of nutrients.

Liberally drizzled with a a divine dose of purest un-pastuerized olive oil, newly shipped in from Living Tree Foods in Berkley, California - where rawk'n minds make rawsome magic happen.

Raw and Real at 51 - Young and Youthful Forever!



My homeschooling teen and I began living the raw, vegan lifestyle, close to 9 yummy years ago. Over half of Kaelin's 15 years on this youthful non-diet, have been 'well spent.' After close to a century ...eating organically and orgasmically, of the seed, and off the vine, from the root and as does the shoot, there is no turning back. Starting our day with fresh lemon; squeezed into water, to cleanse the GI tract. Next, drinking our Himalayan crystal's soaked in water to create a brine. Lastly, an overflowing glass of PH-balanced Greens, follows ...

After drinking 24 oz of pure liquids, upon first arising, a body does what it is naturally meant to do .. if you know what I mean. Detoxification through the natural art of elimination. How perfect a process can it be? A lean, toned physique, smooth, flawless complexion shiny hair, sparkling eyes, and even-minded disposition, has never been easier. Even as a 51 year young, homeschooling, single mommy, possibly entering into peri-menopause; hormonally charged with dwindling supplies of estrogen, intact .. Enzymatically-charged whole foods, are the only way to seriously live one's precious and playful life.

Freshly prepared fruit juices and fruits; a cleansing start to a new and rawsome day. Personally, I prefer to begin with a gorgeous pink grapefruit. You can literally feel the divine difference.

For lunch and/or dinner; a supernatural kale and broccoli sprout salad; served with the 'good fats' of avocado and black Botija olives from Peru. Drizzled with unpastuerized olive oil and sprinkled with herbs and Himalyan crystals. Often, a couple of Kats Hot Flax Crax, to really spice up the divine delivery. So many ways to keep mealtime exciting and meal preparation easy and inviting ...

Snacks can be as simple as soaking a jar of almonds, overnight, rinsing, and eating the next day. Maybe with a dash of Bragg's Amino's, if you like a little season for a rawk'n reason.

'IceDream" as I love to name it; one peeled and frozen banana; put through the Champion juicer and blended with naturally-sweetened Medjool dates or raisins. Whatever your little, luscious heart, dearly desires. For you are the Queen of you Queendom The ruler of your own shining Sun, and the Mother of all magical Moon's.

We eat of Nature. From the Earth do we arise. And, shall we go back into .. Thus, partake of what we are already so magically made of ... Only makes common, courteous and consciousness-raising sense, right?

Eating raw,vegan foods was a lifestyle practised by a mere 2% of the world-wide population, a mere 8 years ago. At the butter-less hot-air popcorn munching, sushi-craving, and occasionally salivating over tender roasted chicken eating age of 42, my homeschooling 6 year old and I made the miraculous move to consciously connect to our higher selves. Without even knowing how, on a linear level of cosmic non-comprehension, we already understood that living a kinder, freer, and more compassionate lifestyle was something our hearts and instincts told us we must do - now!

After sharing with Magical MotherVictoria, at one of the Boutenko families first series of Vancouver based raw food demo's and workshop's, "This is the missing link!" Even then, I innately knew where I was meant to be and stay, in order to go beyond my self imposed limitations and the tragic way that my already so S.A.D. society literally defined and defiled me and its very own flavourless self. Merely starting with a bold book on preparing fancy gourmet concoctions consisting of creamy heat-dried cashew concoctions, written by Juliano. Armed only with a stove on low heat and the desire to start making some much desired changes in my ceaselessly non-changing life, I began a journey that I never ever realized would take me towards the joy I am now standing, breathing and unabashedly bathing in ...

So many scintillating stories along the wondrous way of discovering who I truly am and how we are all meant to live and love. A luscious life filled and brimming over with bliss and endlessly overflowing with vibrancy and victory. Is it a wonder that we were never shown this wisest way of creating a kinder, gentler world, when we went to school to learn. Everything we ever needed to comprehend is found within. We are own true wonders and it is only by being kinder to our planet and the beings blessed to be upon it, that we can ever hope to survive, let along thrive. No one can make that defining difference, except us. Even if one or many may or not believe in a bible written by a bunch of dead mean who profess to be able to preach to the often mindless masses, we must "Be true unto oneself." For the garden of Eden beckons to one and all and if we do not listen .. then, only shall we perish.

With the United Nations recently reporting that we are soon long overdue for an burgeoning bulge, not only on our bloated belly of a flailing and failing economy, as already sorely being silently witnessed and unjustifiably allowed.We are rip roaring ripe for a long standing. and sitting on our slackening asses, unconscious crisis of the lowest and impurest common denominator. By slaughtering our pet cow: Clarabelle, and roasting our pretty piglet: Prudence, we have moved further from our Goddess-sent roots than any feeling flower ever would have the pretty petal powered Godl-less gumption to do. We have lost touch with nature and nurture - one of the sanest and same - our true identity and real-ity. All in the nameless name of an impending population explosion due to announce itself in 2050 in the fearful form of 9.1 billion nutritionally and spiritually deprived people!

The recently published U.N. report states:, "Impacts from agriculture are expected to increase substantially due to population growth, increasing consumption of animal products. Unlike fossil fuels, it is difficult to look for alternatives: people have to eat. A substantial reduction of impacts would only be possible with a substantial worldwide diet change, away from animal products." Time to stop chopping up our calves and start opening up our hearts. Carry water. Help our neighbour. Build a compost. Grow a garden instead of watering a useless lawn. Go for a relaxing bike-ride, rather than driving your over-sized polluting car to the big box store where we don't even know where the pesticide-laden killer tomato grows.

Must be how we met Chef Eric Rivkin and his rawk'n delights ... Close to 3 years ago, after my dear Mommy died, thanks to too many false diagnoses and poison pills prescribed by a sinful system that "knows not what it does", we looked into the loving face of a more humane society already creating itself. As we walked the naturally-scented woods of the beautiful UBC Endowment Lands: beginning to really take heed and notice our sumptuous surrounding. Picking free-growing blueberries, at nearby alive and buzzing Camosan Bog: synergy became more a part of our purifying lives and blossoming chain of endearing events, found freshly available and in plentiful abundance, therewithin. Lo and behold, one day, after biking downtown to Gorilla Food Cafe, we met up with Ellen Atkin, the promoter of Eric's upcoming living foods workshop, and next thing you know ... We were not only invited to attend, yet to assist in one rawstruck and enchanting endeavour of the hungriest and highest kind.

Each of us has a calling. Most creatures never discover what their own true potential is. The saddest thing is when we do not know that we can do something, we are someone important just because .... and we can support a world of conscious change with our un-heated efforts and divine inner discipline. This is what we all need to do if we dream of co-existing in a world inflated with rising oil costs, while silently watching the beautiful black blood being mindlessly sucked out of Mother Earth's vital veins and supernaturally orchestrated organs.Working together as a united alliance where all fabulous forces align into a finer and foreseeable future, filled with conscientious creative vision, inner hope and an unshakable belief in the vested powers of our own selves and the omnipotent power that infinitely flows through our sweetest and most sacred selves.


Kaelin and I are grateful to be supporting internationally acclaimed, raw food chef, Eric Rivkin, as we assist him in both Whistler and Vancouver, this joyful July. One delicious raw, vegan demo and two wondrously tasty workshops, where clients shall indulge their discerning taste-buds and get drunk on nature' s most intoxicating juices. Surely selling out of nut mylk bags and zucchini-slicing veggie spaghetti spirooli's. Referring to one more pure and precious page of Eric's bouncing baby of a bountiful book: "TO LIVE FOR," and skillfully dancing the soulful steps of once impoverished soul, now gratefully living the life of an instinctual and conscious being; meant to be eternally happy, healed and whole. After all and before anything else, isn't that what PEACE surely and deliciously is?

I shall be turning 50 years young, this January 5th! At 49 years fit and fantastic, I am more than willing and ready to admit that I am a hotter than hot-house tomato, still in ever-ripening transition. 

Thus, allow me and mine supernatural powers extraordinaire to ignite your natural sense of self; allowing you to find the freedom to express your most inner being. Letting go of societal expectations and self-inflicted limitations. Merely to magically un-cover and divinely discover the spicy sweetheart you have been waiting to boldly and bravely bring out of hiding!

                                     Purposeful  Preparation

                                 
                 ( Preferably garden fresh, local, organic and orgasmic ) 



                                      Heirloom Tomatoes

                                      Red Spanish Onion

                            Bunch Of Gorgeous Green Cilantro

                                       Jalapeno Pepper 

                                        Mushrooms

                                  Crunchy Celery Stalks

                                       Garlic Cloves

                                     Cardamon Seeds


 Chop, slice, dice and delectably deliver an intensely desirable array of healing rainbow colors of vegetables, herbs and spices ( maybe cumin or curry ... ) into a very large vessel worthy of fermenting your ingenius and most consciousness-raising mixture, for a discerning day, taste-tempting two, thought-provoking three or ....

Fold in ground golden flax seeds from Manitoba, mixed with clean, pure alkaline water. Preferably at least one generous 454 gram bagful of Goddess-blessed goodness, thoroughly saturated and beautifully hand-blended.

You are going to need ample counter space and a very large mixing bowl to create your magical potion. And, a folded dish towel or heavy cheesecloth to cover and protect one pure and precious creation.

After your amount of desired days ... for maximum acidopholus/bifidus creating fermentation, start dolloping out large ladles of lusciousness onto a teflon dehydrator sheet. Cover with brown un-waxed paper or prepare for more cleanup, later ....

You are gonna want to taste these tender morsels as they slowly un-cook in their own calming caldron of un-cooked 105 degree heaven. My son and I rarely see a Kat's Hot Flax Crax make it to desired 'time' quota. We enjoy far too much ... taste-testing tender 'burgers' of natures own bounty, wrapping our moist and wickedly tasty wonders in hy-dried nori sheets and filling with chunks of lemon and himalayan crystal drizzled avocado. For a real glow, just go .... do it. We are!
